CHICAGO -- (WGN) -- Former Chicago Police Officer Jim Mullen has been an inspiration ever since he survived being shot in the face nearly 20 years ago.

On October 16th, Officer Jim Mullen was shot an duty with a 357 magnum. A bullet to the face made him an instant ventilator quadriplegic.
