AURORA, Ind. -- (WJW) -- An EMT worker in Aurora, Indiana has been charged with stealing funds from Emergency Rescue, Inc.
Craig Whitham, who's been missing since Feb. 22, was charged Friday morning by the Dearborn County Circuit court.
Prosecutor Aaron Negangard tells FOX19 NOW Whitham took more than $106,000 and is now charged with felony theft.
Just two days after Whitham went missing, prosecutors went to court seeking bank records. He is the treasurer for the organization.
Whitham's family told FOX19 NOW that he has worked as an EMT for 20 years and is currently an employee at Aurora Emergency Rescue.
"We are really worried because he is a responsible, reliable person and this is not like him," Whitham's cousin Angel Adams told FOX19 NOW in February.
The EMT worker left with only his ID and credit cards, according to family.
It's been reported that the operating budget for rescue is about $200,000.
