Police: Toddler inside vehicle when woman fatally shot

ST. LOUIS -- (WXIX / KMOV) -- A toddler was inside a vehicle when a woman was shot and killed in the Dutchtown neighborhood late Sunday night.
Jessica Paxton, of the 4400 block of Osceola, was fatally shot while inside a vehicle in the 5000 block of Spring around 10 p.m.
According to police, the 23-year-old and a 25-year-old man were inside a car when three suspects announced a robbery and showed a firearm. As the victims fled the scene, one of the suspects fired a gunshot, striking the woman. Paxton died at a hospital.
A 2-year-old was inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. He was not injured during the shooting.
