Sex offender arrested for attempted kidnappings

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- (KRON) -- A highly dangerous sex offender accused of trying to kidnap two young girls within the last week in San Jose has now been arrested.
Transient David Lee Russell, 56, was arrested around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Oakland Rd. and Charles Ave. in San Jose.
He was arrested on suspicion of attempted kidnapping, attempted kidnapping to commit a sexual offense, assault with intent to commit a felony, and an outstanding no-bail warrant for misdemeanor DUI, police said.
Numerous tips from the community helped police locate Russell.
