Body found in shallow grave identified as Zuzu Verk

UPDATE Feb. 7, 2017: Chris Estrada, the second suspect in the Zuzu Verk case, was arrested by Phoenix Police Monday morning, KOSA-TV reports .
Estrada was arrested for the same charges as Zuzu's on-again, off-again boyfriend Robert Fabian -- tampering with or fabricating physical evidence by concealing a human corpse.
ALPINE, Texas -- (KOSA) -- A body that was found Friday morning in a shallow grave has been identified as missing Sul Ross student Zuzu Verk.
According to the Brewster County Sheriff's Office, a forensics team in Dallas made the identification Monday.
"Nobody ever gave up. Nobody ever gave up and their hope kept our hope alive, so grateful for the wonderful job they've done” Lori Verk, Zuzu's mother said in an interview on Monday.
The body was found near Sunny Glen Canyon by a U.S. Border Patrol officer who was in the area checking on a lead regarding illegal immigrants.
Zuzu's on-again, off-again boyfriend Robert Fabian was arrested Saturday morning after being charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence by concealing a human corpse.
