A Crime Watch Daily update on a teacher's student-sex scandal out of Iowa.
Mary Beth Haglin, a substitute teacher, hooked up with her teenage student. And she was more than happy to share the seedy details with Crime Watch Daily Correspondent Jason Mattera, down to their pet names for each other.
Now Haglin is learning how much jail time that forbidden romance will cost her. And it seems Haglin has found herself a shocking new profession.
She's the teacher who went from prim to anything but proper.
Mary Beth Haglin couldn't find a gig after getting busted for carrying on a steamy affair with a teenage student. What's a girl to do? She turned to stripping.
But now, the saucy sub has taken it up a notch -- or should we say down. She's doing porn, as seen in a clip for a website featuring adult films. Haglin opened up to the porn camera man about her naughty romance with her student lover.
"Can we talk about the controversy that you have around you?" the cameraman asks.
"We can totally talk about the controversy that I have around me," Haglin says in the video.
That controversy: A taboo relationship that sexually sparked when the 25-year-old Haglin was substitute-teaching in the boy's class. The two started having an illicit affair.
But the sex-capades ended when the student shared Haglin's sexy selfies with his friends. It didn't take long for those racy pictures to reach the desk of school administrators, who sacked her.
Haglin told Crime Watch Daily the taboo trysts took place in the student's car at a park. She said she had broken it off with underage student, but we caught the two together at the strip club where she was working. The student was not happy to see our camera.
Mary Beth Haglin is now paying a price for her passion. She was convicted in criminal court of sexually exploiting the student. Haglin chose a bench trial, so a judge decided her fate -- not a jury.
Linn County District Court Judge Kevin McKeever reached his decision, saying Haglin "knew the victim was a student" and that the conduct between the two "was for the purpose of arousing or satisfying sexual desires."
At her most recent hearing, the judge threw the book at Mary Beth Haglin. Judge McKeever sentenced her to 360 days in jail -- all but 90 days are suspended.
As the proceedings unfolded, Haglin's mom sat in court with her head in her hands being comforted by her other daughter.
In the meantime, Mary Beth Haglin will be acting out her sexual fantasies for all of her new fans on the internet.
Along with her 90 days in jail, Haglin will also be on probation for 10 years. She will also be on the sex-offender registry for 10 years. With her sentence she is eligible for work release.
She now has up to six months before she has to report to jail. Because this is a sex offense, the judge warned the former teacher that she would be subject to enhanced prison time for any future convictions.
