AMBER Alert expires for missing Hampton mom and infant, police continue search

HAMPTON, Va. -- (WTKR) -- The AMBER Alert for Chloe Johnson expired Thursday night, according to Virginia State Police.
Authorities are still searching for the missing 8-month-old and her mother, Keir.
Virginia State Police said AMBER Alert policy dictates a 12-hour activation period unless there are extenuating circumstances. After seven days the alert was terminated.
Chloe Johnson was last seen with her mother on April 30.
Chloe is a black female infant with brown eyes and black hair.
The child is believed to be in extreme danger and was last seen in the 1900 block of Hastings Drive.
Police do not know who abducted Chloe at this time.
Chloe's mother Keir Johnson is missing and is also possibly abducted, police tell News 3 they could both be in danger.
Keir is a black female who was last seen wearing blue jeans, tee-shirt and glasses.
When the AMBER Alert was issued, police said they may be traveling in a 2013 black Kia Optima, license VAW2197. However, as of May 14, the vehicle had been located in Newport News with no sign of Chloe or Keir.
