Man charged in accidental shooting death of his sister

SARASOTA, Fla. -- (WBBH) -- A 19-year-old Sarasota man is accused of accidentally shooting his sister at the dinner table.
Authorities said Daniel Cortez-Reyes and his family were eating dinner Sunday when he pulled out a semi-automatic handgun. He told investigators he pulled the magazine out of the firearm, inserted the magazine, and the firearm discharged.
A single round struck his sister, Leticia Reyes, 20.
She was taken to the hospital, where she died.
