FORT MYERS, Fla. -- (WBBH) -- A Port Charlotte man will spend 30 years in federal prison for making child pornography.
Brian Thomas, 27, must also hand over his laptop and cell phone, the judge ruled.
FBI agents downloaded 14 images and two videos of child pornography from Thomas's computer between Jan. 18, 2016, and Mar. 2, 2016, using a file sharing program.
Thomas admitted to FBI agents that he had downloaded images and videos featuring child porn for years. He told law enforcement he started creating images when a minor's parents let him take pictures and videos while she slept in her bed.
Analysis of his computer showed Thomas downloaded more than 6,000 images and 35 videos of child porn from July 2012 through March 2016.
