Mother claims one-year-old was bitten more than a dozen times by babysitter

UVALDE, TEXAS -- (KABB) -- A mother out of Uvalde, Texas, described the disturbing details about an alleged child abuse case.

On Wednesday, Helena Cortez sat down and counted every single bite mark on her one-year-old son Brandyn's body.

“There's a bite mark there, and there and then there's some on this side,” said Cortez.

It was over the weekend when the mother noticed a cut on her son's foot after picking him up from the babysitter.

She says the babysitter told her Brandyn fell on a razor while in the bathtub.

“That's the thing, there was a real big bruise. I mean it was a gash,” said Cortez.

The mother says when she put Brandyn in his car seat to take him home, she noticed something else was wrong.

“I noticed the bite marks on his arm,” said Cortez.

Bite marks weren't just on his arm, also his cheeks, his ears, even his back.

“If he would've fallen I can understand a bump on one side, but it was everywhere on his body,” said Cortez.
