Midland teen survives shooting in parents' murder suicide

MIDLAND, Mich. -- (WEYI) -- Two people died in an apparent murder-suicide Saturday night on I-96 in Ionia County. A third person survived the shooting.
The couple was found dead in their SUV parked on the shoulder of the highway. A loaded gun was found under the man's body.
The woman's daughter, 18-year-old Amedy Dewey, was shot but survived.
David and Lisa Sommers, both 50 were found shot dead near their SUV.
A Grand Rapids TV station reports David had surgery for a brain tumor the day before the shooting. He picked them up from an airport after Dewey and her mom went on a vacation.
Amedy Dewey is a cheerleader at Midland High School.
