REDDING, Calif. -- (KRXI) -- A pair of men that have been booked a combined 57 times since 2010 was arrested again on Sunday, along with a woman who allegedly tried to hide one of them from police.
According to Redding, Calif. police officers, Sunday's incident started around 10 a.m. when an officer saw a suspicious vehicle driving through the Parkview neighborhood. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but it accelerated away in an attempted to escape. After turning into the Redding Village Mobile Home Park, two men and a woman jumped out of the car. Two suspects ran out of the park, and another suspect hid inside a trailer.
Two of the suspects were later identified as Robert Tyler, 27, and Jesse Scott Caldwell, 27, both of Redding.
Responding officers located Tyler nearby and believed he was one of the passengers that fled. Tyler was found to have a felony warrant for a violation of Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS).
Caldwell, who was hiding in the trailer, refused to exit. Most officers left the area, but one officer watched the home from a distance. Around an hour later, officials say that Caldwell left the home on foot. He was quickly stopped by officers down the street.
Police reported that Caldwell was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and had four warrants for his arrest.
Upon arriving at the jail to book Caldwell, an officer observed Robert Tyler waiting outside on the front steps. Tyler had been released from custody after only 30 minutes.
Caldwell and Tyler have been booked a combined 57 times at the Shasta County Jail since 2010. Robert Tyler was placed on PRCS in November of 2017 for a hit-and-run causing injury. Tyler admitted that he has never reported to Shasta County Probation since being assigned to PRCS.
