William Woodward found guilty of second-degree murder

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. -- (WKMG) -- After a full day of deliberating, a Brevard County jury found William Woodward guilty of second-degree murder on Wednesday.
The jury weighed three felonies in the death penalty case against Woodward: two counts of first-degree premeditated murder with a firearm and one charge of attempted first-degree murder.
The jury found Woodward guilty of the lesser charges of two counts of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.
The State Attorney's Office said Woodward shot and killed Gary Hembree and Roger Picior and wounded Bruce "Tim" Blake in a neighborhood dispute on Labor Day 2012.
Jury members were handed the case about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday by Circuit Judge Kelly McKibben. She allowed the jury members to go home after 5 p.m. The jury members are not being sequestered, the State Attorney's Office said.
About 3 p.m. Wednesday, the jury requested speakers to help them clearly hear some of the video evidence in the case. Court officials said they would oblige.
At 5:45 p.m., the jury delivered the guilty verdicts.
Sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
