Police: mother arrested after hitting her kids with a broomstick

ODESSA, Texas -- (KOSA) -- According to Odessa Police, they arrested a woman after she hit her children with a broomstick.

OPD says they responded to a welfare call at Brookview Apartments located at 3843 Penbrook in Odessa.

The call advised dispatch that an adult female was hitting kids with a stick.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the woman identified as 46-year-old Cindy Miller.

They also made contact with a 12-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl.

Investigation revealed that after both children were being disrespectful towards Miller, she grabbed a broomstick and began hitting the girl on her left arm, right arm and left shoulder blade.

Miller then used the broomstick to hit the boy on his left arm and twice on his right hand.

Officials observed bodily injury on the girls arms and left shoulder blade.

They also observed injuries on the boy that were consistent with his story.

Officers then spotted a broken broomstick nearby.
