Teacher who fed puppy to turtle charged with animal cruelty

PRESTON, Idaho -- (KIFI) -- The Idaho Attorney General's Office has filed misdemeanor charges against Preston biology teacher Robert Crosland.
The charges, filed Friday, allege one count of misdemeanor cruelty to animals.
Citing a conflict of interest, Franklin County Prosecutor Vic Pearson referred the investigation to the Attorney General's office for investigation.
Crosland was accused of feeding a sick puppy to a snapping turtle he kept in his classroom.
The Franklin County Prosecutor's office said Friday that the case would be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
An arraignment date before Magistrate Judge Eric S. Hunn has not yet been announced.
