LAS VEGAS -- (KSNV) -- Henderson Police are hoping more teenagers come forward after police say they may have witnessed the grisly murder of a Silverado High School student on Friday, June 8th, 2018.
Disturbing new details have emerged about what happened that morning when 17-year-old Matthew Minkler was shot and killed.
According to the arrest report, Minkler was shot in the face and killed during a modified game of Russian Roulette, where only 16-year-old Jaiden Caruso held the gun and pulled the trigger.
"It just seems very macabre and morbid and something you don't see with juveniles," said Officer Scott Williams, spokesman for the Henderson Police Department.
Henderson Police say Caruso even bragged about it on social media and posted videos while Matthew was still bleeding on the floor.
“This is one of those cases that just kind of shocked the consciousness of anyone who knows about the details,” said Officer Williams.
Hours later, before Caruso and 17-year-old Kody Harlan were picked up for recklessly driving a stolen car, police say they admitted to going back to the house to clean up the blood. Then they dragged Matthew's body downstairs and into a closet. Police later discovered the door had been spray painted with a curse word.
The teens also stole Matthews' wallet, using $300 to buy drugs and new shoes for Caruso, since according to the report, blood had stained his other pair.
“This is true, real heinous acts committed by people that seem to show no remorse or callus for this,” said Officer Williams.
