Virginia bride embezzled more than $93K to pay for wedding, buttocks lift: investigators

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- A Virginia woman was arrested and charged with embezzling over $93,000 from the construction company where she once managed the books, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
Vanessa Cline, 32, of Stafford, was charged with five counts of embezzlement, five counts of forgery, and five counts of uttering.
The investigation determined the company's former bookkeeper had made numerous unauthorized personal purchases including:
$25,000 - wedding planner
$7,200 - buttocks lift surgery by Elite Plastic Surgery in Miami
$2,000 - wedding dress
She also used the company's credit card to buy clothing, perfume, household furniture, plane tickets, and an ATV, according to Stafford County Sheriff's Office investigators.
In addition to the unauthorized purchases, investigators said Cline forged five checks totaling nearly $10,000.
Cline was booked in Rappahannock Regional Jail on an $8,000 bond.
