FAIRFIELD, Calif. (KTXL) -- Police say a pantsless intruder entered a Fairfield couple's backyard Jan. 8 and tried to get inside the home through the doggy door.
Fred Farrell, 83, said he was working in his garage when the intruder approached the house, where his caregiver and wife, who has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, were both inside.
"He dropped his drawers and mooned her and was trying to get her outside," Farrell explained.
He said the man tried to force his way into their home through a sliding door. Then, he tried the dog door.
Farrell said his wife immediately called 911.
Fairfield police officers chased the suspect through the neighborhood. When they caught him, they discovered he was a registered sex offender who had been wanted for violating his parole and had cut off his GPS ankle device.
Police arrested the suspect, now identified as 48-year-old Leroy Vance, of Fairfield.
