Dad dead, newborn baby missing, 3 women's bodies found in house 300 miles away

MIAMI (WJW) -- A relative found three women shot dead in a Miami residence and a 1-week-old baby missing this week.

Police issued an Amber alert Tuesday night for the baby, believed to be with his father, 49-year-old Ernesto Caballeiro.

One day later the father was found dead in a rural wooded area in Pasco County, about 300 miles away from the victims' home in Miami. Authorities said he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The van cited in the Amber Alert was found about 50 yards from his body. A baby pacifier was found in the van, but the child was not present.

Investigators are looking for information about a blonde woman witnesses said was in the van with the baby's father.

Police have searched for the child with helicopters and bloodhounds since they issued an Amber alert for him.

Police did not disclose the relationship between the father and the women. They were identified as Arlety Garcia Valdes, 40; Isabela Valdes, 60; and Lina Gonzalez, 84.
