UTICA, N.Y. (WPIX) -- A 21-year-old man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, admitting to killing a 17-year-old girl and posting photos of her corpse online.
Brandon Clark of Cicero in central New York entered the plea Monday with the understanding he will get the maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
Clark initially entered a not guilty plea and was set to stand trial later this month for killing Bianca Devins last July.
Police said Clark and Devins met online on Instagram and grew close. Devins had a large online following and was especially well-known in the gaming community. It was on the Discord social app for gamers where Clark posted photos of Devins' body, police say.
Last month Clark was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband after corrections officers allegedly found a sharpened toothbrush in Clark's possession during a cell search in December. That charge was dropped, however, as part of Clark's guilty plea, the Utica Observer-Dispatch reports.
Clark is scheduled for sentencing April 6. He faces a possible sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
