Virginia State Police locate sex offender after 11-year search

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WTKR) -- Virginia State Police ended an 11-year search for a convicted sex offender after a Virginia Beach resident tipped off police two weeks ago.
According to police, 48-year-old Christopher Chesser was last in compliance with the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry requirements in 2009. Police have been searching for Chesser since then.
Chesser was taken into custody without incident and charged for failing to register with state police and for a 2009 probation violation. He is being held at the Virginia Beach jail, according to officials.
