Boyfriend arrested in connection to death of woman found on Richmond bike path: Sources

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- An 18-year-old Mechanicsville man has been arrested in connection to the murder of a Richmond woman found dead on a city bike path on Wednesday.
Officers were called to the 4300 block of Williamsburg Road, near Gillies Creek Park, for a report of a person down on a bicycle path at approximately 10:13 a.m. When officers arrived, they found 22-year-old Dominique Danzy shot to death on the bike path. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Crime Insider sources said U.S. Marshals arrested Jamar Paxton Jr. at a Colonial Heights motel Thursday night. Those sources say that Paxton was Danzy's boyfriend.
Paxton has been charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Police say additional charges are pending.
