Chad Daybell update: Prosecutor confirms remains found on property were children

UPDATE June 15, 2020:
Chad Daybell has pleaded not guilty after investigators say they found the remains of two missing children on his property, KSTU reports. The action, filed in the Fremont County court system, also included a request for a jury trial and pre-trial process.

The Rexburg Police Department announced Saturday the findings of autopsies performed on two bodies found on the Salem, Idaho property of Chad Daybell last week. Rexburg Police said the remains have been officially identified as 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan, East Idaho News reports.
Rexburg Police issued the press release confirming that remains found on Tuesday have been positively identified by the medical examiner's office as belonging to Joshua “JJ” Vallow, who was 7 when he vanished in September, and his 17-year-old sister Tylee Ryan.

East Idaho News reports human remains found on Chad Daybell's property were children and one was concealed in a “particularly egregious” way, according to Madison County Prosecutor Rob Wood.
The information was disclosed as Daybell appeared for his initial court hearing Wednesday morning. He is charged with two felony counts of concealment or destruction of evidence.
Prosecutor Rob Wood confirmed during Wednesday's court hearing that the remains are of children, the Post Register reports.
The Idaho Statesman reports Fremont County Magistrate Judge Faren Eddins set bail for Daybell at $1 million — the same amount that was set for his wife, Lori Vallow Daybell, three months ago.

East Idaho News reports Chad Daybell was booked into the Fremont County Jail at 5:21 p.m. MT, according to online records. He was arrested for destruction or concealment of evidence.
KUTV reports human remains were found Tuesday on Chad Daybell's property in Rexburg, Idaho, police confirmed on Tuesday. The remains have not been identified.
East Idaho News reports that Rexburg Police Sgt. Gary Hagen confirms human remains have been found at the home of Chad Daybell in Fremont County.

SALEM, Idaho (KSTU) -- Chad Daybell has been taken into police custody after numerous police officers served a search warrant at his Fremont County, Idaho home.
East Idaho News reports Daybell's car was stopped about a mile from his home and police took him into custody.
Rexburg Police officers, with the assistance of the FBI and the Fremont County Sheriff's Office, served the search warrant around 7 a.m. Tuesday.
The home is located on the 200 block of North 1900 East in Salem and the search is connected to the case of missing children Joshua "JJ" Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 17. The warrant is reportedly sealed.
East Idaho News reports multiple witnesses said they saw several officers pull Chad Daybell over about a mile south of the Daybell home around 11:30 a.m. Witnesses say he got out of his silver SUV, was placed in handcuffs and put into a police car.
