ATLANTA (WSB) -- Rayshard Brooks, the man killed by Atlanta police after a confrontation at Wendy's Friday night, died from two gunshot wounds to the back, the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office said Sunday night.
Brooks died of organ damage and blood loss, the medical examiner concluded after an autopsy. The manner of death has been classified as a homicide.
The officer who shot Brooks, Garrett Rolfe, has been fired. Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard said he will determine by Wednesday if he will charge Rolfe with a crime.

Brooks was shot by police after a suspected DUI stop led to a confrontation in which Brooks got hold of Rolfe's Taser.
“Because this is a homicide investigation, there are several technical requirements that must be met before we are able to reach a decision. That includes the confirmation of the ballistics involved and obtaining a preliminary report from the Medical Examiner,” according to the DA's statement, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Hours after video of the incident was released, officials announced the city's police chief had stepped aside and that the officer who shot Brooks had been fired.
