UPDATE July 24, 2020:
Madera Police announced Friday the arrest of 2-year-old Thaddeus Sran's parents for murder. The child's remains were found by a cadaver dog exposed in an agricultural “fire pit” and had appeared to have been burned in farmland just west of Madera.
MADERA, Calif. (KGPE) -- Madera Police say the parents of missing 2-year-old Thaddeus Sran stopped cooperating with the investigation early on in the process. Sran has been missing since July 14.
The family has denied the accusations and said that they have hired a lawyer.
Hundreds of people, including investigators and members of the public, continue to search for Thaddeus.
Sran's family said the toddler has a feeding tube. The family is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone with information on the child's whereabouts.
In a Facebook post Tuesday, Madera Police said in part: "Please know that there are many aspects of this investigation that we cannot comment on publicly at this time. But, we will not stop looking for Thaddeus. ... Unfortunately, Thaddeus' parents stopped cooperating early on in the investigation. We believe their assistance in this case would be helpful. We are hopeful that they will resume cooperating with Madera Police Department detectives and help us to locate Thaddeus."
Madera Police say Thaddeus Sran was reported missing from a residence on the 800 block of South C Street on the morning of Wednesday, July 15.
The Fresno Bee reports the boy was last seen wearing a red shirt and Spider-Man pants with a diaper underneath. He is approximately 2 feet tall and weighs 30 pounds.
