MIRAMAR, Fla. (WPLG) -- The FBI has released new information in the case of missing mom Leila Cavett.
At Miramar headquarters, the FBI showed images from surveillance video of the last few times Cavett was seen, which was three weeks ago.
Detectives confirmed the 21-year-old mother and her 2-year-old son were alone when they drove from Georgia in a white pickup truck to Florida on July 24 and 25.
There is a video from a Cracker Barrel in Vero Beach on July 25 and at the RaceTrac gas station in Hollywood on July 26.
Surveillance video from a RaceTrac gas station on US 441 and Hollywood Boulevard shows Cavett getting into a Lexus sedan on July 26, the same day her son was found wandering barefoot in only a diaper and a T-shirt in Miramar. The gas station is in the same plaza in Hollywood that the white truck was found on July 29.
The 2-year-old boy was found Sunday, July 26, wandering alone in the parking lot of an apartment complex. He was spotted around 8 a.m. by a woman who told police she had gone out for coffee and saw the child wearing a T-shirt and a diaper when she returned.
Leila Cavett lives in Atlanta, while the rest of the family lives in Jasper, Alabama. Family members said Cavett has no known connection to Florida.
Cavett arrived in Florida on July 25, 2020 and spent time in the areas of Hollywood, Miramar, and Ft. Lauderdale before her disappearance. Her truck was found unattended on July 28 in Hollywood.
The FBI said Leila Cavett is approximately 5'4" tall and weighs about 120 pounds. Leila has her son's name "Kamdyn" tattooed on her right inner arm and a "Jesus fish" tattooed on her right wrist.
