PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) -- A Pinellas County woman is behind bars after deputies say she left children home alone while attempting to kidnap her neighbors' children.
Detectives said Hannah Braun, 28, left her home at 2 a.m. on Aug. 18. Around 2:15 in the morning, a Ring doorbell camera captured Braun knocking on a neighbor's door. She allegedly entered the home and tried to snatch a 9-month-old child from his 12-year-old sister's arms, according to an arrest affidavit.
St. Petersburg Police said a struggle ensued and the children's parent called police.
WFLA reports a second neighbor said Braun had earlier entered her home and tried to take her 1-year-old grandson.
St. Petersburg Police said the victims in this case did not personally know Braun.
Responding officers took Braun into custody and found she had left two young children alone at her home. Police did not specify their relationship.
Braun was booked in Pinellas County Jail on charges of attempted kidnapping, burglary with assault/battery, child neglect and child abuse.
