MIAMI (TCD) --
Two Florida women were arrested last week on charges of sex-trafficking minors, the Miami FBI office announced Tuesday.
Kiara Nunez, 21, and Alexandra Ramirez, 19, were arrested on Monday, August 24, for their alleged involvement in sex trafficking of minors, the FBI said. Nunez was arrested in Hollywood and Ramirez was arrested in Coral Springs. They were held in federal custody and are facing federal charges.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports the government accuses the pair of selling two girls, one as young as 15, for sex at hotels and Airbnbs across South Florida between October 2019 and February 2020. Both of the children had been reported missing by their families.
In a sting operation at a Fort Lauderdale hotel on Jan. 29., an undercover officer attempting to purchase sex via an online advertisement contacted Nunez by telephone and negotiated a “two-girl special,” the Sun-Sentinel reports. Nunez also allegedly showed the undercover officer a series of videos of other girls on her phone “in provocative and undressed poses.”
