GAINESVILLE, Ga. (TCD) --
Two children are dead after their mother allegedly stabbed both of them, then herself in their Georgia home Friday, according to the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to a residence on Crescent Drive at approximately 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, where they made contact with an injured 26-year-old woman. In the home, deputies found two dead siblings: a 5-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl.
The injured woman, identified as Berenice Jaramillo-Hernandez, was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Investigators said between noon and 2 p.m. on Friday, Jaramillo-Hernandez killed the children with a knife and then "turned the knife on herself," the sheriff's office said.
Jaramillo-Hernandez faces two counts each of felony murder, malice murder and aggravated assault. She was set to be charged at the completion of her medical treatment, the sheriff's office said Friday.
