ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (TCD) --
Two Albuquerque residents were arrested after allegedly torturing someone who came over to their house in January.
Robert Eugene Crane and Audreyanna Chavez were arrested and both charged with first-degree kidnapping, robbery, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, tampering with evidence, and conspiracy to commit felony.
According to KRQE-TV, Crane and Chavez allegedly invited a friend over to their house to buy a bicycle. When he arrived, the couple allegedly tied up the friend with zip-ties and tortured him. Crane reportedly asked the victim about someone who owed him money.
Albuquerque Police said Crane allegedly shot the man in the foot, heated a metal pipe and threatened to burn him in the face, and shoved an object up his nose, KRQE reports. Crane allegedly spray-painted a cross on the man’s chest and threatened to shoot him.
The victim managed to escape. Court records show Crane is a convicted felon. Police said the victim was also wanted by law enforcement.
