North Carolina man accused of setting ex-girlfriend's house on fire

GASTONIA, N.C. (TCD) --
Police on Sunday arrested a man accused of setting fire to his ex-girlfriend's home.
According to the Gastonia Police Department, 64-year-old Desmond Hunter allegedly lit the woman's house on fire Saturday evening. Police said the woman was still inside when it happened and she was the only one in the home at the time.
Police said Hunter fled the scene after lighting the home on fire, but was arrested when he returned the next day. Hunter was charged with attempted first-degree murder and first-degree arson.
Hunter was being held in the Gaston County Jail as the investigation continued.
