Indianapolis man accused of pouring gas on man, lighting him on fire

COLUMBUS, Ind. (TCD) --
A 39-year-old man from Indianapolis was arrested early Monday morning after allegedly lighting a man on fire after an argument.
The Columbus Police Department said in a statement officers responded to a call at 3:40 a.m. on the 1500 block of Chestnut Street. When they arrived, they found a male with "burns over a large portion of his body."
Witnesses reportedly told officers that they saw the suspect, later identified as Ralph Shaw of Indianapolis, arguing with the victim.
Shaw is accused of pouring gasoline on the victim and setting him on fire. The victim, who was not named, was transported to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital via a medical transport helicopter.
Shaw was taken into custody without incident Monday afternoon when he was found at Donner Park. He was booked into Bartholomew County Jail on charges of aggravated battery and two outstanding Marion County arrest warrants.
The victim's condition was not disclosed.
