CLEVELAND (TCD) --
Chaos erupted in a Cleveland courtroom Tuesday after a Cuyahoga County judge ruled prosecutors did not have enough evidence to sustain a conviction against Tevin Biles-Thomas.
Biles-Thomas, the brother of Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, was charged with triple murder in September 2019 in connection to a shooting that occurred at a Cleveland Airbnb on New Year's Eve.
DelVaunte Johnson, 19, Toshaun Banks, 21, and DeVaughn Gibson, 23, were killed that night after an alleged altercation broke out when an "uninvited group" showed up to the Airbnb, WKYC-TV reports.
Biles-Thomas pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, which, in addition to murder, included voluntary manslaughter, felonious assault and perjury.
Video provided by WKYC shows a family member of one of the victims running toward Biles-Thomas and yelling at him.
WEWS-TV reports she yelled, "He killed my baby. You know he killed my baby."
In May, a judge declared a mistrial in the initial trial against Biles-Thomas, according to WKYC.
Jurors reportedly received legal briefs from his lawyers as well as prosecutors and there were reportedly arguments in the briefs that Biles-Thomas acted in self-defense.
The jurors reportedly told the judge they were influenced by the information in the documents.
