CLEVELAND (TCD) --
A Cuyahoga County judge sentenced Jared Drake Bell to two years of probation Monday after the former Nickelodeon star pleaded guilty to charges in June.
Cleveland.com reports Judge Timothy McCormick sentenced the "Drake and Josh" star to a year in prison and six months in county jail, but then suspended the sentences and placed him on two years' probation that Bell is allowed to serve in Los Angeles.
Bell must also complete 200 hours of community service.
Bell pleaded guilty to attempted child endangering and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles on June 23.
According to Cleveland.com, Bell reportedly began a relationship with the victim, who is now 19, when she was 12. The victim, who was not named publicly, reportedly said in court a relative introduced them. They messaged each other over the years, and she alleged he raped her in Illinois and sexually assaulted her in Cleveland when she was 15.
“He was such a huge part of my childhood, and in return, he ruined my life,” she said. She later added, “Jared Drake Bell is a pedophile, and that is his legacy.”
Bell’s attorneys denied the allegation and said that police and prosecutors’ evidence did not support the woman’s claims.
