OKLAHOMA CITY (TCD) -- A 34-year-old woman was taken into custody August 12 after police say one of the woman’s daughters tried to jump off the balcony of their apartment.
According to KFOR-TV, Oklahoma City Police officers responded to a welfare check at Brianna Hale’s residence Thursday. Gary Knight, an assistant public information officer with the Oklahoma City Police Department, reportedly told KFOR regarding the daughter, "Apparently, she was upset with the conditions at her home. Her mother, she indicated, had been abusive to her to the point she wanted to take her own life."
When police arrived at Hale’s home, they reportedly discovered other children, as well as more than 30 dogs in her three-bedroom apartment. KOKH-TV reports there were "animal feces all over the floor," according to police.
In a police report cited by KOKH, Hale allegedly told her daughter who was on the balcony, "I wish you were dead anyway."
KOKH reports Hale’s 16-year-old and 9-year-old daughters were also abused. According to KOKH, Oklahoma City Police say Hale allegedly referred to her children as "demons" and "robots."
Knight reportedly told KFOR, "There were several kids. Two or three kids in the home and all of them young kids. These were young kids living in conditions that no one needs to be living in."
KFOR reports animal welfare took the dogs and the girls' father took custody of them.
The Oklahoma City Police Department arrest blotter shows Hale was charged with abuse/neglect/exploitation or sexual abuse of a child. She was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center and was being held on $100,000 bond.
