FORT WORTH, Texas (TCD) -- A 41-year-old man was arrested Monday for his alleged role in killing three people whose bodies were found in a dumpster that had been set on fire.
Tarrant County Jail records show Jason Alan Thornburg was taken into custody on a charge of capital murder of multiple victims. The Fort Worth Police said in a press conference that Thornburg "admitted his involvement in the death of the three individuals."
According to the Fort Worth Homicide sergeant, Thornburg admitted to killing two other people on two separate occasions in addition to the three victims found in the dumpster.
The Fort Worth Police Department announced that on September 22, the Forth Worth Fire Department responded to a dumpster fire on the 3100 block of Bonnie Drive. While extinguishing the fire, officials reportedly found three bodies, which included a child, a young teenager or adult female, and an adult male. Fort Worth Police said the bodies were "burned and heavily dismembered." Additionally, there were "body parts unaccounted for."
Police said identifying the victims is a “difficult” process due to the "dismembered conditions of the body." They did, however, identify the male victim as 42-year-old David Lueras.
According to KXAS-TV, police confirmed the other two victims were adult women.
The Forth Worth Star-Telegram reports Thornburg and Lueras lived together in a motel room in Euless, but he did not know the two women very well. Thornburg reportedly put the body parts in plastic containers and wore a Hazmat suit while transporting them to the dumpster.
Thornburg was reportedly a person of interest in the May death of his roommate. Mark Jewell was reportedly found inside their residence, which was on fire. Officers reportedly did not have probable cause to arrest Thornburg at the time, KXAS reports.
The Star-Telegram reports he admitted to killing Jewell. Thornburg reportedly told investigators he killed his girlfriend in Arizona as a sacrifice.
KXAS, citing the arrest warrant, reports Thornburg told investigators he was being told to commit sacrifices and spoke about his knowledge of the Bible.
Thornburg’s bond was set at $1 million.
