SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (TCD) -- A Mercy Surgery Center employee was allegedly stabbed on duty Friday morning by a man with whom she had been romantically involved.
Early Friday morning, Mercy Surgery Center tweeted there had been an "incident" in their building. Police reportedly believe they were in a relationship.
Neither the name of the victim nor the suspect has been released, but the man has been taken into police custody.
According to KOLR-TV, the victim was transported to the emergency room following the stabbing. She is reportedly in serious condition. Police reportedly believe the stabbing was prompted by a domestic situation.
