North Carolina man arrested after allegedly shooting someone with a crossbow

ASHEBORO, N.C. (TCD) -- A 42-year-old man was arrested Oct. 7 for allegedly trying to kill someone with a crossbow.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, authorities responded to BB Trail in Asheboro on Oct. 2 regarding an assault. The victim was discovered on the scene with a "wound to the abdomen," the Sheriff’s Office says.
WGHP-TV reports that the suspect, Christopher Troutman, shot the victim with a crossbow and fled the scene on foot.
The Sheriff’s Office reports the victim was brought to the hospital by Randolph County first responders. The office’s Investigations Division obtained warrants for Troutman, initiating the search for him.
Troutman was arrested and booked into the Randolph County Detention Center and was being held on $75,000 bond. He faces charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflict serious injury.
