Nebraska man reportedly killed with a pole during fight with suspect

LINCOLN, Neb. (TCD) -- A 29-year-old man died Monday afternoon reportedly during an altercation with another man.
The Lincoln Police Department said in a statement officers responded to an assault call Monday on the 2600 block of Vine Street at approximately 3:10 p.m. Lincoln Police said the suspect is in custody and were working on contacting the victim’s next of kin. They called the incident a homicide and said there was "no ongoing danger to the public."
In an updated news release, Lincoln Police said the victim was "struck with a pole." Police reportedly did not know the nature Adams' argument with the victim or how they knew each other. The victim died at the hospital from his injuries.
According to KOLN-TV, Brian Keith Adams was arrested on charges of second-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Police said Adams was "quickly developed as a suspect" and he was apprehended at a residence in southwest Lincoln. He was reportedly taken into custody without incident. He is reportedly recovering in a local hospital and will be booked when he is released.
