3 incarcerated teens reportedly escape Louisiana detention center, remain at large

BRIDGE CTIY, La. (TCD) -- Three juveniles reportedly escaped from the Bridge City Center for Youth on Sunday and remain on the run.
According to the Louisiana State Police, the three escaped the facility located on River Road in Bridge City between 2 and 3 a.m. WVUE-TV reports 16-year-old Damarion Simmons, 14-year-old Devantae Payne, and 18-year-old Errol Gillett were all still at large 12 hours later.
The detention center was reportedly placed on lockdown following the escape. Spokesperson Beth Touchet-Morgan told WVUE the Louisiana State Police and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office are working together to locate the teens.
WVUE reports Gillett is allegedly from New Orleans and his past charges include multiple incidents of armed robbery and vehicle theft. Simmons is reportedly from Pointe Coupee Parish and was incarcerated for theft and sexual battery charges. Payne’s past charges were not released. He is reportedly from St. Bernard Parish.
The Louisiana State Police said the three teens are "believed to be traveling on foot."
Touchet-Morgan told WVUE that the detention center was considered secure Sunday afternoon and no staff or detainees were harmed in the incident.
