California man accused of stabbing ex-girlfriend to death

LOS ANGELES (TCD) -- A 29-year-old man stands accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death over the weekend.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident was reported around 6:16 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27, on the 4100 block of Whittier Boulevard. At the scene, deputies reportedly found a female victim in her 20s suffering from stab wounds to her upper torso.
KTLA-TV reports that the victim was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Upon further investigation, the Sheriff’s Department said investigators arrested the victim’s ex-boyfriend Joseph Huertas on Sunday, Nov. 28. He is being held on $2 million bail and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, Nov. 30.
