LAKELAND, Fla. (TCD) -- A 34-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for reportedly exposing himself to a juvenile at a McDonald’s drive-thru.
According to a news release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the incident was reported by the manager of the restaurant in late September, after Charlie Lee Cook Jr. allegedly exposed himself to a juvenile cashier.
Cook reportedly went through the drive-thru, paid for his food, received it, and then came through the line a second time to flash the victim while calling out the name from her name tag.
The Sheriff’s Office said the juvenile closed the drive-thru window and alerted her manager of the crime. The manager then reported the incident, though the employees were not able to identify him right away, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Cook reportedly returned to the McDonald’s restaurant two weeks later and employees recorded his information via his debit card and vehicle tag number to report to deputies.
Cook was booked into the Polk County Jail on Tuesday, Nov. 30, and bonded out for $750.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Cook admitted that he committed the crime.
Cook reportedly has a criminal past, including a 2014 arrest for battery domestic violence and a 2017 arrest for transmission of material harmful to a minor and use of a two-way communication device to commit a felony.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a new release, “We previously arrested Charlie Cook during an undercover child pornography investigation. He was sending nude images to a 15-year-old girl he met as a youth leader at a church. Now here he is again, trying to groom and solicit a child. He clearly wasn’t rehabilitated or held accountable back in 2017, but we will do everything in our power to ensure he is held accountable now.”
