Newborn baby found abandoned in cardboard box in Alaska on New Year’s Eve

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (TCD) -- An abandoned newborn child was discovered in a cardboard box on New Year’s Eve.
According to a press release from the Alaska Department of Safety, at approximately 2 p.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to the intersection of Dolphin Way and Chena Point Avenue on a report of an abandoned infant. At the scene, authorities reportedly discovered the child alive in a cardboard box with a note indicating that the parents could not take care of it.
According to the Anchorage Daily News, the note read, "My parents and grandparents don’t have food or money to raise me. They NEVER wanted to do this to me. Please take me and find me a LOVING FAMILY. My parents are begging whoever finds me. My name is Teshawn."
According to the Alaska Department of Public Safety, the child was brought to a local hospital by EMS in good health. The investigation remains ongoing as Alaska State Troopers seek more information about the child.
