Investigators use iPhone to track Texas babysitter accused of kidnapping 9-year-old

BRENHAM, Texas (TCD) -- A 23-year-old babysitter stands accused of kidnapping a 9-year-old child last week.
According to KBTX-TV, the 9-year-old's mother told the Houston Police Department that the babysitter kidnapped her son on Wednesday, Jan. 6, from a Houston apartment complex in the 10000 block of Forum West Drive.
According to KWHI, the child's mother was able to use an iPhone app and alert dispatchers of her son’s whereabouts. Houston police reportedly located the suspect’s phone in Washington County.
According to a statement obtained by KBTX, at approximately 2:45 a.m., Washington County sheriff's deputies stopped the suspect, Madison Paige Ling, in the 2000 block of Old Independence Road, where the child was found safe. Ling was reportedly driving a car with a man who was not involved with the crime. KBTX reports that the man was released.
According to records, Ling was arrested Thursday, Jan. 6, and charged with kidnapping. She was booked into the Harris County Jail without bond. Ling is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, Jan. 12.
