Indiana man arrested in Nebraska after allegedly kidnapping and handcuffing woman

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (TCD) -- A 52-year-old man from Indiana was arrested in Nebraska on Wednesday, Jan. 13, for allegedly kidnapping and handcuffing a woman.
According to a news release from the Nebraska State Patrol, at approximately 8:20 p.m., state troopers responded to mile marker 314 near Grand Island to a report of a suspect and kidnapping victim traveling in a Chevrolet Silverado. According to police, the suspect, William Brittingham, was believed to be armed with several firearms.
Upon troopers’ arrival, police say, "The suspect then drove through the median and began traveling eastbound. Troopers immediately performed a tactical vehicle intervention to bring the suspect vehicle to a stop."
Nebraska State Patrol SWAT reportedly rescued the victim and took Brittingham into custody. According to police, the victim told authorities that Brittingham handcuffed her and drove from Indiana to Nebraska. Upon further investigation, troopers reportedly located several firearms inside the cab of the vehicle.
Brittingham was arrested and booked into the Hall County Jail. As of Jan. 13, he was awaiting extradition to Indiana.
