North Carolina man accused of fatally shooting his mother, sister, and son

WILMINGTON, N.C. (TCD) -- A 40-year-old man allegedly shot his mother, sister, and son to death at a shopping center over the weekend.
According to a press release from the Wilmington Police Department, on Saturday, Jan. 15, three people were shot at the Landfall Shopping Center after Wilbert Robinson reportedly opened fire on them in a vehicle.
Police identified the victims as 64-year-old Diretta Robinson, the mother of the suspect, 48-year-old Trina Robinson, the sister to the suspect, and the suspect’s 13-year-old son, whose name was not disclosed by police.
According to WECT-TV, Robinson also shot himself and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Robinson was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder and firing into an occupied vehicle. According to police, his motive is unknown. Police speculate that the suspect and victims arrived in the same car together before the shooting.
