HOUSTON (TCD) -- A 32-year-old man was arrested this week for allegedly shooting his older brother multiple times after a bar fight.
According to a press release from the Houston Police Department, on Wednesday, Jan. 19, Anderzon Giron reportedly opened fire at his older brother, 38-year-old Hector Giron, at 8313 Varner Road at approximately 3:10 a.m.
Police say they responded to the home and learned that Hector had been shot in the abdomen and buttocks. He was reportedly transported to the hospital. According to KPRC-TV, Hector was struck multiple times and is expected to survive.
According to police, a witness told authorities that the Giron brothers had dinner and drinks at a restaurant before going to a bar for more drinks. Police say the witness stated that "Anderzon was aggressive and belligerent and the group was asked to leave the bar. The witness stated they all left the location and the witness gave Hector Giron a ride home."
Once they arrived at the home on Varner Road, Anderzon allegedly came out of the residence with a rifle and shot his brother several times. According to police, the witness told authorities that they were able to retrieve the gun from the suspect.
Anderzon was arrested and charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 339th State District Court, police say.
