Naked California man allegedly opened fire on Greyhound bus, killing 1

OROVILLE, Calif. (TCD) -- A 21-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly opened fire on a Greyhound bus on Wednesday, Feb. 2, and killed one person.
According to a press release from the Butte County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 7:35 p.m., officers from the Oroville Police Department responded to a Greyhound bus outside the AM/PM store on Oroville-Dam and Feather River boulevards. A shooting reportedly occurred inside the bus, and five people suffered gunshot wounds. The Sheriff’s Office says one person was pronounced dead at the scene despite lifesaving measures. The four other victims were reportedly transported to the hospital for treatment.
According to KOVR-TV, two of the gunshot wound victims include a 25-year-old pregnant woman and an 11-year-old girl. A 38-year-old man and 32-year-old man were also reportedly wounded. Police did not release the name of the deceased victim.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect, later identified as Asaahdi Elijah Coleman, fled the scene before officers’ arrival. The Oroville Police Department received additional 911 calls about the suspect inside the Walmart on Cal Oak Road nearby, the Sheriff’s Office says. According to KOVR, Coleman was found inside the store with no clothing and was acting erratically.
Upon further investigation, KOVR reports authorities learned Coleman boarded the Los Angeles-bound bus in Redding. Coleman reportedly appeared to have made or received a call that allegedly made him upset. KOVR reports Coleman showed a firearm in his bag to the people on the bus. When the bus arrived in Oroville, Coleman allegedly started firing once passengers began exiting.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Coleman was arrested and booked into the Butte County Jail.
KOVR reports Coleman has a criminal past and was wanted in Alameda County for a felony warrant for illegal possession of a firearm.
