GLENDALE, Calif. (TCD) -- A 47-year-old man was arrested three different times within a 16-hour period over the weekend.
According to a press release from the Glendale Police Department, shortly after 3 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13, James Langdon of Los Angeles was seen pacing in a parking lot at the intersection of Colorado and Louis streets. He then reportedly ran out of the lot and against a "don’t walk" sign. Police say officers tried to stop Langdon for the illegal action, but he fled. He was reportedly pursued and arrested for obstruction after a brief struggle.
According to police, Langdon requested medical treatment and was brought to a local hospital. He was reportedly given a court date and released at the hospital.
Several hours later at approximately 9:30 a.m., police say Langdon was trespassing at a business on the 1400 block of East Chevy Chase Drive. He was reportedly using a screwdriver to try to gain entry to a closed part of the business.
According to police, Langdon was arrested and booked for trespassing. With Los Angeles’
"Zero-Dollar" bail order, Langdon was allegedly released within three hours of being booked. Police say he was given a notice to appear in court at a later date.
Then, shortly before 7 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Balboa Avenue to a report of burglary at an apartment building, police say. Residents reportedly noticed the door was ajar, items within the apartment were moved around, and a man could be heard shouting.
Upon their arrival, police say officers located Langdon walking in the apartment building hallway. He reportedly ran back into the victim’s apartment unit and locked himself inside. With the help of the Burbank Police Department’s K-9 unit, police say officers established a perimeter around the building and tried to negotiate with Langdon.
Langdon reportedly refused to leave the apartment, so officers made a forced entry. Langdon eventually exited the bedroom voluntarily and was arrested without incident, police say.
According to police, in total, Langdon caused approximately $6,000 in property damage to the apartment unit and complex. He was reportedly arrested and charged with burglary and felony vandalism. As of Thursday, Feb. 17, police say Langdon was in custody on $150,000 bail.
