LAS VEGAS (TCD) -- A Nevada woman who previously pleaded guilty to fatally pushing an elderly man off a bus was handed a prison sentence on Friday, Feb. 18.
The 8th Judicial District Court in Clark County tweeted a photo of Cadesha Bishop’s plea agreement saying she was guilty of abuse of an older/vulnerable person resulting in substantial bodily or mental harm or death. The plea agreement says she will serve eight to 20 years in the Nevada Department of Corrections. She will also receive credit for 252 days of time served.
According to Bishop’s arrest report cited by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, on March 21, 2019, Bishop was reportedly yelling at passengers on the Regional Transportation Commission Bus. The victim, Serge Fournier, walked by Bishop and told her to "be nice to the passengers." She then reportedly shoved Fournier off the bus using two hands and walked away afterwards with her son. Fournier was reportedly holding a walker or another type of folded basket when he fell.
Bishop was arrested in May 2019, KLAS-TV reports. Fournier was reportedly bleeding from his head after the fall and was transported to a hospital, where he died a month later from his injuries. The autopsy reportedly determined he died of blunt force trauma to his torso, and the medical examiner ruled his manner of death a homicide.
